About This Handmade Bead Artwork
A deep cobalt-blue field carries a strongly graphic, four-way symmetrical design. At its centre a small white-and-green quatrefoil flower is ringed by four sky-blue rosettes, and from there angular orange and golden-yellow branches spread out towards the corners.
White, pink and turquoise blossoms sit on the diagonals, green rosettes with small white crosses punctuate the field, and white lily-like flowers fill each corner. Thin yellow and orange lines separate the field from a light turquoise border scattered with small orange, red and purple flowers and yellow squares.
Every bead was woven into place individually, by hand, one at a time. The work is photographed in a striped wooden frame of alternating light and dark strips.
