About This Handmade Bead Artwork
This work translates calligraphy into hand-woven beads. Two lines of Arabic script in black run across an ivory field, their tall vertical letter strokes giving the composition a strong rhythm, while long horizontal strokes tie the letters together.
The field is enclosed by a thin green line, a terracotta-orange border patterned with a regular grid of black and white beads, and an outer green edge. The work is photographed on a turquoise backing board.
